I am going into my fourth year of studies at Queen’s University in Mechanical and Materials Engineering. I was granted the opportunity to join the C2T2 expedition team through the Queen’s Summer Work Experience Program. I have always had a passion for exploring the outdoors and an interest environmental science and geography. Growing up I spent all of my summers going on canoe trips with my family and Camp Temagami. After high school, I spent the next year in Patagonia, Chile with the National Outdoor Leadership School where I continued to fulfill my passion for outdoor exploration. When I am in the front country and at school, I enjoy cycling, hiking and nordic skiing.
I am very excited to be able to bridge the gap between my faculty of study and the Department of Geography and Planning. I have a lot to learn from other members of the team and hope I can bring a new perspective to their work. While we are up north, I will be helping all other members to collect data for their research. I will also spend some time working on my own project on vegetation mapping using kite aerial photography.
